Board and competitive exams are sides of a precious coin

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the examination dates of JEE Main 2021 examination. We have to wait for official announcements

At this stage, many students are puzzled on which exam to focus and given main importance, how to prepare the study plan, how to divide time and so on. In this article, I have given deep insight into this issue and had brought some important points that you have to consider to gain good ranks and marks both in JEE Main and Board exams.

So, let’s discuss

The first question that would arise is what is the major difference between JEE Main and board exams. To answer this broadly, Board exam will be focused on theory and derivations while JEE Main is more about practice and application of concepts based on same theory So,
understanding theory part thoroughly in board exams will reduce your effort in JEE Main.

Here are some points , which you should keep in head before you get started with JEE Main and
Board Exams:

Have a Clear Understanding of Fundamentals:
Have a clear understanding of the fundamentals involved in all the chapters; it is the key to success in both the exams. The basic concepts of every topic remain the same. Since, both the exams have a similar syllabus, you can understand the working of a concept easily. While IIT-JEE has more sophisticated application of concepts, the theory remains the same. Write formulas in a notebook on each topic, and refer to them while preparing for JEE.

Complete the syllabus:
Don’t miss out any topics-no matter how small or insignificant. Devote sufficient time and effort to completing the syllabus fully and make sure to study every part of it thoroughly, no matter how hard or easy. NCERT books are known for being the best while preparing for JEE Main and 12th board exams. Cover all the topics covered in NCERT books recommended by CBSE board.

Prepare a timetable:
Divide your syllabus and allot specific timings per day for a subject. It is best advised to divide the timings in such a way that at least some topics of each subject are covered per day. Since JEE Main also consists of the 11th standard syllabus, make some time in the evening or morning for the topics related to the 11th standard. Preparing a timetable will help you stay on track to complete the syllabus.

Practice Previous Year Papers:
It is important to understand the concepts covered in the syllabus of Class 11th and 12th thoroughly. The students are advised to practice previous year exam test paper, practice/mock test papers as much as possible. If you do enough practice of the three-hour exam format, you will surely pass with flying colours in JEE Main and Board exam. We would suggest you to buy some best test series package online to keep practicing at home, in such case you would get a clear picture of where do you stand among the competition.
